Despite the miserable damp and cold weather 42 riders braved the elements at the 3rd event of the TLI Cycling North Weald Series. To add the challenge of wet conditions racing was held in the opposite direction to the usual circuit which completely changes the nature of the course.
After a couple of quiet laps five strong riders broke away from the bunch, Dan Stevens (Neon Digital), Andy Saunders (Giant/Radlett) , Graham Galvin, Rob Windsor and David Barnes all from East London Velo. The bunch was happy to let them go and these riders stayed away until the finish. In the closing laps three further riders managed to create a gap but they never reduced the gap to the leaders.
In a tight sprint Dan Stevens edged out Rob Windsor and Andy Saunders.
